Going home

As we were leaving our hotel this morning, the bellman asked me what I thought of LasVegas. Having learned he had lived in Colorado himself and would be familiar with our state's SE often dry and barren nearly desert plains, I answered him with the same words I told Adelia as we first approached the city: "This place is not so special - just looks like Pueblo, Colorado, but on steroids."To which the bellman replied, "You're right - I've just never heard it put that way."
Arizona...going east
Glenwood Canyon
I-70 through Glenwood Canyon is a gorgeous drive. This was the area of the interstate that the rockfall that closed last week and forced our 200 mile detour through Steamboat and Craig. Our trip home was 3 hours shorter since workers now have this stretch of I-70 open one lane in each direction. The speed is limited, but the scenery is even more spectacular when you drive slower speeds!
